Healing Methodology

I have a unique approach to healing which goes creatively beyond the paradigm of well/unwell. At the heart of my approach to mental health is this belief. What we are looking at here is rather a holistic, person centred process. I view this process as having the person standing at the centre of their own unque universe, they are surrounded by a host of resources bolstering resilience and empowering them to navigate life’s challenges.

This is a world view. Central to its application is the understanding that mental health is a diversity of experience. We need to recognise and champion the rich spectrum of cognitive and perceptual experiences and embrace concepts like Schizotypy, through this we challenge the traditional right/wrong paradigm of the medical model. A shift like this promotes inclusivity and a nuanced understanding of mental health. This way I can celebrate who I am and the unique way I perceive and interact with the world.

Spirituality is integral to my methodology. I set intentions and co create with the gifts and opportunities the universe provides me. No planning, no concern about the future or past just oneness with what is, the present moment. By doing this a culture of trust and openness is cultivated. A deeply held belief in a benevolent universe fosters a sense of flow, in terms of others experience it allows individuals to draw on spiritual and elemental forces for guidance and support. You can sit back and know everything will be alright.

In this model, stigma is consciously ignored. Disregarding social conditioning and expectations about how someone with a mental health experience should behave, prioritising personal growth and authenticity over adherence and external judgements. This allows for a redefining of what it means to heal, free from stigmatising narratives and embracing the complexities of our journeys.

Ultimately what I am proposing and how I exist acknowledges that the path to healing involves not only accessing external resources such as therapies, communities and coping mechanisms. But also nurtures the spiritual and personal strength and resilience that empowers us to thrive.
