Part of the reason I am being one hundred percent transparent about my lived experience of mental health is because I would like to begin the process of speaking about an adjusted model for mental health diagnosis. I have no formal qualifications that qualify me to do this. However I have a wealth of lived experience and beleive that this is as much qualification as a person, any person needs to talk about mental health. I firmly beleive in self advocacy and would like to encourge everyone who has had an experience with their mental health to do the same. I believe weather you are labeled as well or unwell you have the right to self advocate and be transparent about your experiences. Its a method of educating people about mental health and raises your self esteem. I would also like to extend this invitation to those who have not had a mental health experience. I think you would be suprised just how many people have had a mental health experience regardless of if it is deemed 'serious' by current society. To create this New Model for Mental Health I would like to hear from people and share in the rich tapastry of mental health experience.
