Psychosis

I have experienced two episodes of Psychosis in my life. The first was at the age of 41 after a particularly difficult relationship break up where I lost my home, my relationship and my business. The second was unfortunately after I had dilligently reconstructed my life and got myself into a much better position in terms of the model of a 'normal' life path. On two occasions I have been admitted to hospital and on two occasions I have had to attempt to rebuild my life. Psychosis leads to an unusual life experience. Things happen which are hard to account for using a 'normal' life model and no matter how hard you try it is an experience which alters how you view and conduct your life. Hospital can be a horrifying experience, hospital can be a joy but due to then having to begin to fit into 'normal' life again the trauma that can be experienced is extensive. It can really feel like life is not worth living and this is totally understandable but through this blog I would like to start unraveling this and discussing an alternative way of conducting life which honours all of our experiences and allows for acceptance and a more peaceful way forward.
